All of Lexi’s impatience and fatigue drifted away. She stood in awe at the unbelievable presence of the purple crystal flowers. Each one illuminating a soft energy in the morning sun.
Lexi tore her eyes away for a moment to take in the rest of the forest. She exhaled with relief, having finally made it to the Amethyst Forest after months of trekking across the land.
Thin brown trunks towered over the forest’s edge. Their branches held delicate little pink flowers as they rustled a mystical soothing song. The sweet smell in the air and the pastel hue reminded her of cotton candy that she’d ate at the summer fair last year. The fluffiness of the trees matched the pink velvety carpets that surrounded a bright green field.
Lexi placed her bag with cautious on the grass. Something told her that the land was precious and fragile. She leaned on a rock, feeling its warmth from the sunlight, while she removed her leather boots and heavy leather jacket. She folded up her brown cotton pants to the knees and her blue shirt to the elbows.
Her hands felt dirty and rough. The morning’s journey through the dense wetlands was tough. She took her waterskin and washed her hands and face with the last of the water. Using a light blue handkerchief, she tied her long, straight brown hair back from her face.
Lexi smiled, feeling refreshed. She tip toed across the grass, keeping an eye out for wild flowers. Tiny orange and yellow flowers peppered about on the grass. They contrasted against the large purple crystal flowers.
The ground felt cool and invigorating as the energy flushed up the souls of her feet. Her spine shivered as it rushed up her back, relaxing her tired muscles.
Lexi gasped with awe. She crouched to see the egg shape objects resting in velvety soft purple petal baskets. Its purple glow illuminated onto her hand as she reached out to touch it. She ran her fingertips over one side. It felt warm and smooth, like glass. The inside swirled with purple and white light energy, following her fingers in rhythm as she moved them.
“I wonder if it would be okay for me to take one.” Lexi’s breath intertwined with the energy. “I don’t want to diminish them.”
Lexi walked into the middle of the green field and knelt down in a prayer position. She closed her eyes and listened to her breathing. Thoughts about her tribe and how they valued gratitude and love for mother nature flowed in her mind. She finished her prayer with a reflection of her gratitude and love towards the Amethyst Forest.
Upon opening her eyes, Lexi heard the forest trees singing and chanting. She placed her hands on her heart and declared her request in her mind.
Keeper of the Amethyst Forest. May I please have a purple stone? The queen is very ill. Her daughter, the princess, sent me on this quest to ask you for your help. She asks that the queen may have a purple stone to aid in her recovery.
Lexi relaxed while she waited for a response. The forest’s little pink flowers danced about in the breeze. She followed one with her eyes, smiling at its playfulness as it twirled about in the sky.
A purple light shone from one of the crystal flowers, catching Lexi’s attention. She raised her hand to shield her eyes from the glare as it intensified.
Angelic singing fell over the clearing. Lexi put her hand down to listen. Her body felt calm and her mind content as the peacefulness of the song washed over her.
The purple light dimmed. One of the egg-shaped crystals hovered above its petal basket. Lexi bowed in thanks to the Amethyst Forest.
Dancing pink flowers guided her over the hovering crystal. She placed her hand underneath it. The crystal flower floated down onto her palm. It somehow felt cold while warm to the touch. Her fingers tingled as the energy drained into her.
A glow of purple rippled out from her hand and up along her arm. It continued to wash over her body, covering her from head to toe. Her eyes blinked as the warm energy reached her mind’s eye.
Lexi stumbled as the power hit her mind. She awakened and her head filled with wonders and beauty. She could see the world through fresh eyes. Everything became energy, floating and swirling around in front of her. The ground glowed with what she could only describe as ants holding tiny torches running about on their different paths. They lit up way, the connections to everything in the forest. Each tiny flower, each blade of grass.
“Go now, child. Together, we can heal the Queen.” An angelic voice chanted in her mind.
